Volunteer for the 2025 Point In Time Count!

Sign up to volunteer for the 2025 PIT Count with the form below. The PIT Count will occur January 23, 24 and 25, 2025. We need more volunteers for January 23 and 24!

Please indicate if you are interested in being a team lead and if you have a shift preference.

If you are with an organization signing up as a group, have each individual sign up for the overall count. You will receive an email with more information at a later date!

If at any point after agreeing to volunteer to assist in the Point In Time Count, you are no longer able to, please email eflynn@wakenc507.org as soon as possible. We rely on our volunteers to make this a successful event!

Volunteer Training Information:

To best prepare for the PIT Count, there will be training on safety, how to use the survey app and how to best interact with our community. There are two options for the training sessions:

  • January 16, 2025 from 8-9 AM
  • January 17, 2025 from 8-9 AM

These sessions will be held both virtually and in-person at The Green Chair Project located at 1853 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604. The link for the virtual option is sent out once you have signed up to volunteer. The sessions will also be recorded and sent to volunteers via email to ensure that everyone participating in the PIT Count has all the information necessary.

It is strongly encouraged that team leaders attend the training in person to pick up their team’s donations that they will bring to their assigned survey area. If you are a team leader and cannot attend in person, please let Erin Flynn know so we can coordinate donation hand off.

LEAD AGENCY

The Lead Agency is designated to carry out the activities of the CoC, including fiscal and compliance activities. Regular admin tasks include management of the annual HUD application, coordination of other funding opportunities, project/system monitoring, meeting management, and other duties as needed. The current Lead Agency is Haven House Services.

COLLABORATIVE APPLICANT

The Collaborative Applicant is designated by the CoC Board to be the entity that submits the collaborative funding application to HUD for homeless assistance programs. The current Collaborative Applicant is Haven House Services.

HMIS ADMINISTRATION

Wake County has a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) to record, track, and report results of individual agency accomplishments, as well as measure how the entire community is performing. This system is managed by Bitfocus. The current HMIS Lead is Urban Ministries of Wake County.

Coordinated Access System

The Coordinated Access System (CAS) Lead, is committed to creating and promoting a system that is fair and equitable for everyone entering the homeless response system. The CAS will rapidly identify, assess, prioritize, refer, and connect them to housing and services for which they qualify based on their needs. The current CAS Lead is Oak City Cares.
