CoC MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

OVERVIEW

The Wake County Continuum of Care (CoC) is accepting applications for membership from organizations and unaffiliated individuals who wish to work collaboratively to end homelessness and alleviate its hardships. The CoC is organized to carry out the responsibilities required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The CoC aims to develop an inclusive, diverse, and engaged group of members who are committed to:

  • Engaging the community to address underlying causes,
  • Providing prompt and straight-forward access to a coordinated crisis response system that works to divert households at-imminent risk of homelessness and quickly rehouse households experiencing literal homelessness,
  • Expanding, sustaining, and developing new affordable housing options and supports to meet the changing circumstances of homeless individuals and families.

Membership must be renewed annually via a one-page application. Member organizations and individuals will have voting privileges.

DUTIES

Advise CoC Board on policies via committee participation, recommend funding priorities to the CoC Board, vote on CoC Governing issues such as revisions to the CoC Charter.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Any organization or unaffiliated individual interested in furthering the mission of the Wake CoC, who lives or works in Wake County, may become a member by completing the attached Application and Committee/Workgroup Interest Form. An unaffiliated individual confirms they do not work for an organization that is applying for an organization membership with the Continuum of Care.

COMMITMENT REQUIREMENTS

The CoC is organized to carry out the responsibilities required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Member organizations and unaffiliated individuals are required to attend at least 75% of CoC Membership meetings annually. Members agree to know, understand, and adhere to HUD regulations & CoC Charter, Written Standards, and Policies & Procedures (CAS, HMIS, etc.). Membership is renewed annually.

The vision of the Wake County CoC is to ensure that homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring. We will achieve this vision through our shared values and actions.
